Heaven/Hell October 26, 2009

Heaven and Hell are a state of mind. After years of debating with myself on the topic of – Heaven and Hell : Do they exist? and Do good and go to Heaven; Sin and collect your passport to Hell, I’ve understood what I needed to understand.

It’s true we are built with a soul, a conscience that comes to life when we do. As a result of which, we spend our life in the quest for roots and belief and God.

We celebrate the good and want to make sense of all things catastrophic, mean, painful, storms, hurricanes, crime…

Which leads us to asking the question, where do we want to be when we die?

Why don’t we ask ourselves this instead – Where do we want to be while we are alive?

Heaven or Hell.

Heaven is created by what we perceive of reality. It is created by our actions and a mind willing to be happy.

Hell is also created by what we perceive of reality. And our actions and a mind unwilling to be happy.

-You can light a candle or curse the darkness.
-You can measure a glass as half full or half empty.
-You can choose to admire the rose or destroy it because it has thorns.

I believe you have got my point.

Life and Death in a Few Short Lines. January 2, 2008
